U.S. vs. Czech Republic

The Czech Republic and U.S. kick off Group E matches today. 

I love the Czech Republic.  Prague is an absolutely gorgeous city.  But I hope the U.S. team kicks CR all the way back to the Prague Castle.  : )

I know, snowball's chance in hell, but ya never know.

World Cup Junkie

I'm in World Cup junkie mode.  ABCHD is offering up Paraguay/England and a number of other matches in HD...great to finally get a chance to see Beckham play...the first and only score of the game came from an incredible kick from what seemed a good 40 yards away, and that in the first few minutes. 

I couldn't believe the Paraguay side's goalkeeper let that ball past him!

More games later...feel free to call or write, but know I'm World Cup junkie mode and it's hotter than hell outside here in Austin, so I think I'll enjoy a few brews and all the great football.  The 12 other American soccer fans around the country are welcome to join me.

Lighting up the Tower

I can see the University of Texas Tower from my condo on the hill here in Austin.  Along with mi amigos Ken and Michael (aka Gator), we watched the UT Tower light up in orange as the seconds ran out in Pasadena. 

What a great football game, by both clubs, but Vince Young just proved too incredibly talented and agile for the Trojans.  Sorry for the missed hat trick, but we needed to bring that trophy back here to Austin for a bit.
